Retro cinema culture trip

Team demo visited the wonderful Roundhouse theatre in Camden on the 10th October 2010, to watch a restored version of the full length science-fiction silent movie Metropolis. Directed by Fritz Lang in 1927, Metropolis is the most expensive silent movie ever made. Set in a futuristic urban dystopia, Metropolis makes use of this context to explore the social crisis between workers and owners in capitalism.

The screening was supported by the London Contempory Orchestra, playing out the full score for the duration of the 2.5 hour epic. The combination of live score, retro expressionist visuals and wine created an awesome experience, talked about for days!
