<description>When I hover my mouse over a link, I instantly find favour with a site when I get a plain language explanation of where the link is likely to take me. So, the title component of the (a) tag is pretty vital. It can change a single word cryptic clue into a confidence inspiring choice.

As for opening new windows, the idea of faffing about with middle mouse buttons fills me with dread. My motor function is quite dodgy at the best of times, so an little indicator beside the link, a la Wikipedia, is just the job. Forewarned is forearmed.

The whole point of designing for accessibility is that it has hugely beneficial side effects. If I can navigate a site with a keyboard, rather than a mouse, not easy in Internet Exploder, I can actually get around far quicker! Accessibility is about making a site easier to use and much more user-friendly for everyone, not just those, like me, who are afflicted in some way.

The idea that I get absorbed in a second site, only to find it almost impossible to go back to the site which referred me, probably to find more inspiration, and without missing my place could be a nightmare without the 2nd site opening in a new tab.

With Season&#039;s Greetings
